* Both genders
* Unilateral inguinal hernias
* Incarcerated inguinal hernias
* Elective setting
Exclusion Criteria
* Recurrence
* Inguinal-scrotal hernias
* Prostatectomy, Pfannenstiel incision, previous pre-peritoneal surgery
* Pregnancy
* Refusal for general anaesthesia
