Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

* adult patients undergoing neurosurgery or thoracic surgery that requires the placement of subclavian venous catheterization

Exclusion Criteria

* infection over the puncture site
* history of prior clavicular fracture
* anatomical anomaly of subclavian vein
