* Requirement for open-heart (including emergency) surgical procedures requiring cardio-pulmonary bypass:

* Either:

* Age ≥ 70 to \<80 with a Parsonnet Mortality Risk Score of ≥13 (poor risk); OR
* Age ≥ 80
