Eligibility Criteria

Check the participation requirements, including inclusion and exclusion rules, age limits, and whether healthy volunteers are accepted.

Inclusion Criteria

* acute medical inpatients hospitalized at the Geneva University Hospitals or the Lugano Regional Hospitals

Exclusion Criteria

* patients already on therapeutic anticoagulation
* patients with an estimated life expectancy of \<3 months
* pregnancy
* patients hospitalized for COVID-19
