* ASA physical status I-II
* aged 20-65 yr (adults)

Exclusion Criteria

* rhinitis
* bleeding diatheses
* requirement of awake intubation
* a previous major oral and maxillofacial surgery history
* anatomical deformity of the face, neck and upper airway
