Inclusion Criteria
* known asthmatic patients visiting ED with acute exacerbation
* had given their written informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria
* chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
* required intubation
* instability of hemodynamic or arrhythmia
* unable to perform PEFR
* facial abnormality
* pulmonary infiltration
* pregnancy.
