View Co-Hosts and Reality Stars Discuss Weight Loss and 'Ozempic Face' from GLP-1 Medications
Multiple television personalities have openly discussed their use of GLP-1 medications for weight loss, with some experiencing facial changes known as "Ozempic face" characterized by volume loss and more pronounced features.
Television personalities from "The View" and "Real Housewives" franchises have openly discussed their use of GLP-1 medications for weight loss, with several experiencing facial changes commonly referred to as "Ozempic face." During the Feb. 18 episode of "The View," co-host Joy Behar revealed she lost 25 pounds using a GLP-1 drug, noting that several of her co-hosts had also taken the medication.
Co-host Savannah Chrisley revealed she lost 40 pounds using a GLP-1, stating she did it for health-related reasons as she was prediabetic. Whoopi Goldberg shared that she used the medication because she was almost 300 pounds. Co-host Sunny Hostin previously revealed that she had used Mounjaro, a popular GLP-1 brand, to lose weight after she gained 40 pounds during COVID.
A celebrity cosmetic dermatologist explained that those who used the injections "felt much better losing weight," but they also "felt they looked older." The expert added that "this was due to the loss of volume in their face," which is very common with the popular drug. "Usually, with people from their mid-40s and above, once you start losing 10-plus pounds, you can get this kind of deflated look," he explained.
Hostin told the Daily Mail in 2025 that she was nervous to return to television after the COVID-19 pandemic. "All I did was eat...And I was horrified about the fact that I would have to come out on air," she said of her 40-pound weight gain. "So I...took Mounjaro," she confirmed. When asked if she would use the medication again, Hostin said, "If I needed to, sure. Why not?"
In a 2024 episode of "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Goldberg opened up about losing the weight of "almost two people." In January 2026, "The View" hosted a discussion on weight loss medication where a guest mentioned that it felt like time "to come out about using the medications and no longer feel shame."
Among "Real Housewives" stars, "RHOC" star Emily Simpson admitted on SiriusXM's "Jeff Lewis Live" that her doctor recommended a weight-loss injection. "So I did," she revealed, adding that it "worked amazing[ly]" for her. "It made me more conscientious of what I was eating and so that was a really great kick start for me." While the star lost weight, she added that she eventually stopped using Ozempic. "It made me feel lethargic and it made me just not have a lot of energy," Simpson explained.
During an appearance on "Sherri" in 2024, "RHONJ" star Margaret Josephs revealed that there is no shame in using weight-loss injections. "After menopause, it's so hard to lose weight," the reality star said, adding that Ozempic "shuts off that food noise." The star added that prior to turning to injections, she tried a super healthy lifestyle. "[Before Ozempic] I couldn't do anything. It doesn't matter if I was eating right or exercising, so I don't know why there's any shame in it if it's helpful to people."
"RHONJ" star Jennifer Aydin addressed speculation about her weight loss on "Watch What Happens Live." "I am not on Ozempic!" the reality star said. She added, "I'm on Mounjaro, okay. Mounjaro 2.5. I'm sorry! I love being this weight, I love it! I have so much energy if you couldn't tell."
In 2025, "RHONJ" star Dolores Catania opened up about a heart procedure she had undergone, revealing that because of it, she was temporarily taken off weight-loss injections. "I gained probably 15 pounds in over a month," she revealed. "Now that I'm back on, I'm healthy and I feel much better. I'm down 10," the star shared, explaining that she was on Mounjaro. Speaking about the public's often negative reactions to weight-loss injections, Catania said, "Why would you care what someone you don't even know has to say?"
In 2023, "RHOSLC" star Heather Gay opened up about her Ozempic journey, revealing that it took her some time to actually achieve weight loss. "I've been on it for a long time, but hadn't really seen much results. And I haven't had massive results, but enough for people to notice," she told People.
"RHOBH" star Erika Jayne denied using weight loss drugs when fans speculated about her weight loss in 2023, telling Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live," "Yes, I did come down in weight, and I did it hormonally." When Cohen asked if she used Ozempic, she replied, "I was going through menopause ... I went to the doctor and I said 'get it off me.'"
The co-hosts of "The View" pointed out that someone's weight loss journey should not be a topic of debate. "They kick her behind when she's bigger," Whoopi said. "They kick her behind when she's lost the weight, and now they're kicking her behind because she said it out loud." Sunny added, "I don't think the personal health choices you make for yourself should be subject to discussion."
