* single lesion
* anterior resection was performed
* anastomosis using circular stapler
Exclusion Criteria
* emergency surgery because of bowel obstruction, bleeding or perforation
* colo-anal anastomosis
* subtotal colectomy
* total colectomy
* abdominal perineal resection
* Hartmann procedure
* pull out anastomosis
