Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

* diagnosis of schizophrenia
* chronic auditory verbal hallucinations
* right-handed

Exclusion Criteria

* drug abuse other than nicotine
* severe cognitive deficits
* severe medical conditions
* severe neurological disorders
* severe microangiopathy
* history of electroconvulsive therapy
* pregnancy or lactation
