Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

* elective CABG and aortic valve patients in cardiac surgery,
* previous use of betablocker therapy

Exclusion Criteria

* previous atrial fibrillation or flutter,
* thyroid disease,
* uncontrolled heart failure,
* II or III degree atrioventricular block
